At San Angelo ISD, we are growing hopes and dreams starting with some of the youngest learners in our community! We are now accepting online applications for the upcoming school year for our full-day Prekindergarten (Pre-k) Program that is open and free to children 4 years old on or before September 1, 2021 who meet one of the following eligibility requirements:
- unable to speak and comprehend the English language,
- military eligibility,
- federal income guidelines,
- foster child,
- is or has been in the conservatorship of the Department of Family & Protective Services following an adversary hearing held as provided by Section 262.201 of the Texas Family Code, or
- Child has a parent who is eligible for the Star of Texas Award which honors Texas peace officers, firefighters, emergency medical first responders, and federal law enforcement officers who are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty.
SAISD is pleased to welcome pre-k students meeting eligibility criteria to SAISD, and to provide a relevant and inspiring education by our caring educators to the future of San Angelo. Our Pre-K Program is designed to provide your child with skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. We also offer a unique program for bilingual Spanish-speaking pre-k students where children receive instruction in the student’s first language to become proficient in listening, speaking, reading and writing in both English and Spanish.
